Striped Lion Rum is a premium, small-batch rum produced by Striped Lion Distilling, a Black-owned and majority woman-owned distillery located in Woodbury, New Jersey. Founded by Kevin and Erin Wright, the distillery reflects their passion for rum and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Historical Significance:
Kevin and Erin Wright, married rum enthusiasts, spent over 14 years collecting and studying various rums. Their journey led them to establish Striped Lion Distilling, aiming to share their love and knowledge of rum with others. The distillery pays homage to their shared interest in big cats, a connection discovered during one of their first dates.

Production Details:

  • Ingredients: Fermented from organic American molasses.

  • Process: 100% pot distilled on-site in Woodbury, New Jersey, without added sweeteners or coloring.

  • Aging: Some expressions, like the Rum Collectors’ Reserve 2020, are blends of 4 to 10-year-old pot and column distilled rums from the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Panama, and the United States, finished in Cognac casks on-site.

Accolades/Recognition:
Striped Lion Overproof Rum received a Silver Medal with a score of 88 points from Tastings.com in March 2024.
