How y'all doing? My name is Charles, and I’m Your Friend. I’m a Content Creator, Author, Speaker, Storyteller, and most importantly, a friend. Welcome to my blog!
I’m in the midst of a major rebrand, and my goal is simple: to create a space where you can learn about Black-owned liquors, discover exciting events, and find resources that truly support small businesses. I want to be that bridge connecting emerging Black-owned brands with distributors, retailers, and you—the folks who appreciate great stories and even better spirits.
I officially kicked off this journey back in 2021. When I first started, I found an online advertisement for Brough Brothers bourbon. I went down the rabbit hole, learning everything I could about this Black-owned micro-distillery in Kentucky. I quickly realized they weren’t available for sale in Virginia, so I took my research on the road and traveled to Chat’s Liquors, a Black-owned liquor store in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in D.C. Unfortunately, they didn't have the bourbon either, but the owner, Bernie, was kind enough to introduce me to other Black-owned brands that were available. That experience sparked a passion. From there, I started collecting and trying all sorts of brands, making content about them—and things just snowballed.
My hope with this blog and the overall rebrand is to serve as a portal and connection point, helping people discover products and businesses they might not have seen before. I want to tell the stories of amazing small entrepreneurs and do my part to support the community.
I won’t lie—this is a one-man show right now, so I'm not sure how often I’ll be posting. But I’m committed to staying consistent. You’ll see more reviews, deep dives into Black-owned brands, and blog posts inspired by my TikTok content that go beyond the limits of short-form video.
To my early supporters: thank you. Your encouragement means everything, and I’m excited to take this next step with all of you. My hope is to grow this page into a true resource that supports small businesses and uplifts the Black community.

Hello my friend Charles. I’m Bobby Henry publisher of the Westside Gazette. We are Black onw newspaper with over 54 years under our belt. What can we do to help each other? Let’s think about it and see how we can work together. I’m also the chamber of the NNPA that’s the national newspaper publishers association over 200 black owned media companies from across the country hit me back.
