Meet the Founders: Eduardo Garcia and Aris Gjekas
Karahiyo Spirits was co-founded by Eduardo Garcia and Aris Gjekas, two longtime friends whose shared passion for global coffee culture sparked the creation of the brand. Eduardo Garcia, with a background in business development and deep ties to his Hispanic heritage, envisioned a drink that honored the beloved Carajillo. His mission was to create a culturally authentic, better-for-you espresso martini that fused tradition with modern convenience.
Aris Gjekas brings operational expertise as CEO of FGF Co-Packing, Karahiyo’s production partner. With deep experience in manufacturing and quality control, Gjekas ensures that every bottle meets the brand's high standards and maintains its Virginia’s Finest certification. Their partnership represents a fusion of cultural roots and technical excellence—a true embodiment of their motto: two brothers from another mother.
The name "Karahiyo" is a creative twist on coraje, the Spanish word for courage—symbolizing both the energizing kick of coffee and the bold spirit of innovation. Together, Garcia and Gjekas have built a brand that bridges the worlds of specialty coffee and craft spirits, while actively supporting their community and local economy.
