Founder Bio

Jackie Summers, a native of Queens, New York, and of Caribbean descent, is the visionary behind Sorel Liqueur. In 2012, he became the first Black person in the U.S. to obtain a license to produce liquor post-Prohibition. Inspired by his family's heritage and a desire to share the rich cultural history of the Caribbean, Summers created Sorel to introduce this traditional beverage to a broader audience.
